It's the sudden discovery of a beautiful garden when you were least expecting it; but most needed to find beauty and serenity at that moment.

Stories by the fire

The traffic, bright lights, signs, people crossing streets through the middle of an intersection, noise, sirens, shops and restaurants on every block. It's the boldest, baddest city there is.

While I was painting this, the fire department banged on the door and told us to get out! A fire was climbing the hillside behind our home. Several hours later, the fire was extinguished and I returned to my studio. I was surprised to see the image of the woods on fire and dripping water. It was not my intention. Very mysterious, indeed.
Wine Tasting Time
16 x 20 inch acrylic painting on cradled wood panel.
I spent an afternoon at a local Winery doing an art demo and show one Saturday afternoon.
Between meeting visitors who were interested in my art, sipping wine that mysteriously appeared at my work station, and adding paint to the piece I brought to work on, I looked down at one point and discovered the painting was finished. I named it for the occasion: Wine Tasting.

When I was little, I loved playing outdoors on warm summer evenings when the moon was full and peeked through the trees behind my house winking at me. Memories like that are empowering.
